Suzuki Intruder has yet again reported unsold units for the previous month. Does this indicate that the cruiser is set to get an update soon?

Suzuki Intruder was launched back in November 2017, inspired by the globally popular Intruder M1800R. It was well received by the Indian market, being a new 150cc cruiser.

It competes against the likes of Bajaj Avenger 180, which is currently, the cheapest cruiser in town. However, the Intruder offers better features and a quirky sense of styling, which may appeal to the younger generation.

However, since the past 5-6 months, its sales have been declining. For the last 2 months, Suzuki Intruder remained unsold. Despite being one of the cheapest cruisers, it still could not achieve much popularity.

Comparing it on a yearly basis, in March 2018, the sales figure reported was 4895 units. In the same month, Suzuki launched its FI variant, which further boosted the sales.

Our industry sources have hinted that Suzuki might update its motorcycle lineup very soon. The 2019 Gixxer and Intruder are expected to be launched in a couple of months. Both the bikes are already equipped with single-ABS.

Suzuki Intruder is powered by a 154.9cc air-cooled engine that produces 14.8 BHP at 8000 RPM and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Features onboard include Fuel injection, ABS, a fully digital instrument console, LED projector lamp, LED tail lamp, twin-exhaust muffler and split seats. You can opt for a backrest from the accessories list.
